Re: Gudo - The humble man with great ideas
Although I didn't know him personally I was always very impressed by his mods. A great loss for the 3D printing community.

The university where I study is going to 3D print some houses: click. It's from a Dutch news site, I put it through google translate for you. Unfortunately the video is still in Dutch .

Looks nice! Have you measured how hot it gets within the enclosure? You may want to make sure your steppers don't overheat.

There's a new Ultimaker. This is the first I've heard about it, did I somehow miss out on the hype? Or were there no earlier announcements?
(Accidentally posted this in the wrong topic before... oops)

Re: Object wall deormations
You can choose the coasting volume (or something similar, don't know the exact name), if you set it too high you get artefacts like this.

Re: Hotend heating fast
The PID settings are exactly what regulates how much power is sent to the heater, depending on the current temperature of the hotend (proportional -> P), how the temperature developed in the past (integrative -> I), and how fast it is changing right now (derivative -> D). The influence of each of th...

Re: Hotend heating fast
You probably need to adjust the PID settings of your hotend.

Re: adjusting for dimensional accuracy?
A discrepancy of .7 mm isn't a whole lot. Keep in mind that some plastics shrink as they cool down, and this may differ per filament, color, etc. If you really need accurate parts, you should probably print a new calibration cube every time you use a different spool.

I like the videos! In the last one the balance of the sound seems off... I can only hear you on the left side of my headset, which is a bit distracting.
