Re: HIC i3 - Power Supply Upgrade

While I'm here, let me ask... I'm in the process of upgrading the the power supply on my 3DP-03 (original Prusa Hic made), and I find that the 24V supply I purchased from Hic via Amazon has mounting holes that don't match the ones from the 12V supply. Anyone dealt with that? Are there new frame piec...

Re: HIC i3 - Power Supply Upgrade

I too noticed that the fan speed dropped whenever the bed heating clicked in on our HIC i3 (acrylic frame model) with the stock power supply and wiring. I also noticed that the wiring from the power supply to the RAMPS board was getting HOT, so it was clear that the wire from the power supply to th...

Re: Print Bed Upgrades

We have the acrylic frame Hictop printer, and I noticed that its overall alignment was being affected by the cheap folding table that I had the printer sitting on. I purchased a cheap tabletop from Ikea (one of their Linnmon tops: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/categories/departments/workspaces/1...

Re: HIC i3 - Power Supply Upgrade

Just an update... I did some voltage measurements at the RAMPS board to see what effect the relay modification and upgraded wiring had. Idle (no heating): 12.41 V at input to board PLA Preheat (bed and hot end): 12.39 V at input to board. Essentially no voltage drop at input to board. Works for me!

Re: HIC i3 - current firmware development information

@Chip_M It sounds like we have the same printer. I have attached the latest firmware for my printer (The Hictop 3DP17) I was sent it this morning. Compiled .HEX version: Marlin_3DP17_398.cpp.hex.zip Source Code: Marlin_3DP17_398.rar I ripped some of the configuration values from there, and everythi...

Re: HIC i3 - current firmware development information

[/quote] You must have the lead screw type z-axis rods. The defaults for those would not have been in the Configuration.h file, but you found them. Don't forget to run complete calibration on the printer to finalize your Configuration like extruder/e-steps, Motor steps, PID tune, etc.. You will get ...

Re: HIC i3 - current firmware development information

Just a followup note...we must have an older Hic i3 since I needed to change the default_axis_steps_per_unit for the z axis from 2560 to 394 in order to get the proper z axis movement (checking with the move Z axis knob function). I found the original value back in the rep-rap wiki for the Hic i3. A...

Re: HIC i3 - current firmware development information

This might be a dumb question, so I'll apologize in advance.... I've been trying to compile the Marlin code for my Hictop Prusa I3 (acrylic frame version), using Chip Luck's configuration files and the latest Arduino IDE. I'm getting lots of error messages from SanityCheck.h regarding things like P...
