Re: Hictop Upgrades

More pics of various upgrades. I'll explain each after I get everything complete and I post links to all of these. I'm not just randomly adding each upgrade just for the looks, Each has a purpose and makes the Hictop a better and easier printer to work. http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i124/ctx3201...

Re: HIC i3 - current firmware development information

Never mind Guys, I found it. It's cold in our house from the AC and the fan I have for cooling the Pla is very strong. Not a cheap fan even though it was a cheap price. When the second layer can into play the fan would kick on full force. It is so strong it could cool the V6 head. Turned the fan spe...

Re: HIC i3 - current firmware development information

Hey Guys,
I set my E steps for the extruder and the first layer is great, Better than ever.
But,
I have a new problem, Once the first layer is finished the hotend drops temp and continues to drop.
Tried several times and I get the same thing over and over.
Any Ideas?

Re: Hictop Upgrades

Little update. I actually started a print today. I have to reprint the base for my extruder so I can add the Bowden locks, It pushed the tube out. I did have to change my firmware to a modified stock version. Chip's firmware is awesome but it's set for a stock or his printer, All the changes in hard...

Hictop Upgrades

So, My printer is going through some changes to get this printer up to it's max. Everything from the power supply to the basic screws. The Hictop in stock form is very capable in producing good prints but there's always room for improvement in any brand of printer. My goal is to get this $230.00 pri...

I'll check that out, I also ordered the lead screws today.
I have the Marlin code Hictop uses.
I'll look at it for the changes for the lead screw.

Re: HIC i3 - current firmware development information

Ok, I uploaded your code and so far great, I have all the features I wanted and didn't have before. Thanks I was going to ask about the flashing X,Y,Z but I see you already answered it above. Freaked me out first. Also, one of my printers would always Auto Home and then run to the middle of the bed,...

Re: HIC i3 - current firmware development information

Found it, When the file was unzip to a folder I ran Arduino and it separated the Marlin.ico to a separate folder.
Moved everything to that new folder and now it opens all the files.
Thanks Chip for the idea

Re: HIC i3 - current firmware development information

Thanks for the Welcome Chip, Yea, I figured the e-step would have to change. I'm currently waiting on parts to ship. I do have some questions, I looked at your code and it is allot. I tried to open the files with Arduino but it would only open the Arduino icon file. So I downloaded note++ and was ab...

Re: HIC i3 - current firmware development information

Chip,
You have a link for the Japan bearings?
I also got the firmware download.
Once I get all my parts together I'll be running on the E3d V6. I know I'll need to adjust the firmware for this head but at least now I can get further in my upgrade.
